Tlanixtelotel - The Light Glyph, has many meanings to the Aztecs and Mesoamerican Indians. It is the symbol of sacrifice, the flint that sharpens, symbol of light and knowledge.

Original canvas - $10.00 U.S.D. unframed.

*The "frame" in this image is digitally created and not representative of the actual art.

My art is based on research, actual site visits, and a wonderful book by Tomas J. Filsinger - "The Aztec Cosmos"

Lela Cargill is a new artist to the Austin, Texas area. She has traveled extensively in Mexico and studied Aztec and Maya art for many years. She is currently working in acrylics on canvas and has many more gods to paint.
