Original Painting with green background

Quetzalcóatl was closely associated with the planet Venus which is both the morning and evening star. The brightest object in the sky after the sun and the moon, but having the ability to *go away* and *return*. This was the myth of Quetzalcóatl, that after *going away from the people*, he would someday *return*. This myth caused the downfall of the Aztecs.

Original canvas - $450.00 U.S.D. unframed

My art is based on research, actual site visits, and a wonderful book by Tomas J. Filsinger - "The Aztec Cosmos"
